Your chance to EMPOWER PEOPLE is here! You are not just a Support Worker at CLSMA, but a valued and respected member of a larger support team. We want employees who are kind, patient, intuitive, and can really listen to what people we support have to say. You also need to be non-judgemental, accepting, and encouraging. You will assist people to live as fully participating community members–not to just exist–and you have a core belief that all people belong and have the right to be supported. You will be willing to step out of your comfort zone by advocating for people with disabilities in the community at large, as well to help nurture and teach people you support their own self-advocacy skills. You will respect people and the confidential support you provide at all times. Our employees want to work with cooperative, thoughtful and practical team players who have a positive attitude, who can laugh at themselves, and who are willing to ask questions and learn from other team members, as well as from the people who are supported.
We offer:
We are an agency supporting people with intellectual disabilities exclusively in their own homes, at all hours of the day and night. Be aware that Community Living St.Marys & Area delivers this service differently than other, more traditional organizations. People choose where and with whom they live, and we do not operate any group homes or day programs.
If all this sounds appealing, a career with us might be the right fit for you!
Our commitment towards Equality, Diversity & Inclusion: At CLSMA we believe that greater diversity will further strengthen our talent pool, enabling us to better serve and achieve outcomes. We are convinced that the different viewpoints and experiences of a diverse workforce offer the best value to the people we support and our employees. We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage application from candidates who have been historically disadvantaged or marginalized. We want CLSMA to be an organization where everyone feels included, where everyone is in an environment where they can thrive, where everyone can be their ‘true self,’ and where everyone can reach their full potential.
We thank all applicants, however only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
Current first aid/CPR/AED, Proof of Educational Qualifications, a Police Vulnerable Sector Check, valid Ontario ‘G’ license and access to a reliable vehicle with insurance coverage is required for all employees.
In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act, 2005, CLSMA will make every effort to accommodate applicants with disabilities in its recruitment process.
Note: We keep unsolicited resumes on file for a minimum of 6 months, however, applicants are encouraged to re-apply to specific postings, as they are advertised.
